EVPL invites the community to preserve favorite recipes for future generations of family, friends, and EVPL patrons by submitting recipes for “The Library Table: A Community Cookbook.”
The initiative was announced late yesterday at EVPL’s final SPEAK 2026 event featuring food author, cookbook editor and chef Toni Tipton-Martin.
“We have seen a growing interest in the culinary arts among library users,” said Erika Qualls, Director of Programming & Outreach, EVPL. “Some of our most attended programs are related to cooking, gardening, and food culture. Because food nourishes our relationships as well as our bodies, we wanted to build upon this interest by collecting and publishing recipes that are special to our community.”
Recipe submissions are being accepted now through June 30, 2027; the final cookbook will be available in the EVPL collection or for purchase in October 2027. Recipe submission forms are available at all eight EVPL locations; recipes can also be submitted online at evpl.org/librarytable.
